This WikiHow will show you how you can use the telnet client to watch an ASCII (American Standard Code for Information Exchange) text art version of Star Wars through command prompt on a Windows OS, or to do the same on a Mac OS using Terminal.
To watch it on Windows XP
1 Make sure you are connected to the internet.
2 Open the Start Menu.
3 Click on ‘Run’. (You can also open Run by pressing WinKey + R. )
4 Type, and press OK.
5 In the window that opens up, type in “telnet ” without the quotes, and hit enter or in first line enter “o” without quotes and in second line type then hit enter (source computer. Wizard)
6 It may take a minute to connect, but soon it will play Star Wars Episode IV in ASCII.
7 Note: This is not a hidden movie in Windows. You are using a program called telnet and connecting a server called Once connected, the server plays the movie (an ASCII art animation).
To watch it on Windows 7/8 or Vista
2 Go to Control Panel › Programs › Turn Windows Feature On or Off and check both telnet boxes to turn telnet on. On newer versions of Windows, telnet is turned off by default.

Tips
Due to the limited nature of Telnet, no sound is played.
Windows Vista, by default, does not come with the Telnet client pre-installed. To install it, open the control panel, and go to Add & Remove Programs >> Windows Features >> And check the box next to Telnet. Alternatively, you can install a third-party telnet client like Putty.
One other telnet movie you can watch is “telnet 2006”. It’s blurry, but it’s supposed to be the Soccer World Cup.
You can also use the Telnet client to access BBSes, (Bulletin Board Systems). BBS was the precursor to the modern day internet, and a typical BBS has message boards, chat rooms, games (DOORs)and downloads.
You can also use telnet to access the Both Excuse Server created by Jeff Ballard. It generates excuses based on the “bastard operator from hell”.

The directing mastermind behind the likes of Inception and Dunkirk will soon be returning to light up the silver screen, and no doubt scramble our brains, with his mysterious science fiction movie Tenet. With only a few months left to go before the movie is supposedly going to be released, Tenet star Robert Pattinson has pulled back the curtain ever so slightly, revealing some very minor details about what not to expect from both his character or the story.
“He’s not a time traveler. There’s actually no time traveling. That’s, like, the one thing I’m approved to say. ”
So, despite a lot of discussions and hints to the contrary, the upcoming Tenet is not, repeat not, a time travel tale. If anything this is sure to confuse matters even further, since the trailer for Tenet contained many instances of cars and the like crashing in reverse, which means that if Tenet is not about time travel then just what in the hell is happening? Well, we do have at least one clue. The official book for the making of the film calls Tenet a Quantum Cold War movie, so rest assured, at the very least, we’re dealing with Quantum physics.
Most people were no doubt confident in the fact that, though the movie remains ruddy mysterious, there was clearly going to be some kind of time travel involved, but according to Pattinson, this is absolutely not the case. Of course, Robert Pattinson has garnered a reputation as being a bit of a joker (how ironic, seeing as he’s all set to play The Batman) meaning he could very well be having a laugh at our expense when really Tenet is the most time travel-ly movie of all time.
As he discusses the movie further, it seems that Pattinson has no idea what Tenet is about anyway, meaning it could very well be about time travel and he just didn’t realise. When asked if he could describe what the movie is about he struggled to do so, while also revealing that he has yet to actually see it himself.
“Even if I had seen it, I genuinely don’t know if I’d be able to… I was just thinking, I just called up my assistant 20 minutes ago: ‘What the fuck do I say? I have no idea. ‘ ”
However, he was able to explain where he gathered inspiration for the character he plays in Tenet, which came from a pretty surprising source.
“I forgot a lot of things at the beginning of the movie. I was so obsessed with watching Christopher Hitchens debates. You know Christopher Hitchens? A lot of my character stuff, I was trying to do a Chris Hitchens impersonation, and I completely forgot that I was doing that until I saw my notes. I’m so curious. I mean, I literally haven’t seen a frame of this movie. ”
For those unaware, Christopher Hitchens was an English-American author, philosopher, columnist, essayist, orator, journalist, and social critic. He was an expert debater and wrote several notable works including God Is Not Great. Not the most obvious source of inspiration for a science fiction action movie.
What we do know about Tenet is that it involves a secret agent (John David Washington) who is tasked with preventing World War mehow. There is also an organization involved called The Afterlife. The footage that has been released so far looks very Nolan-esque, with stylish action sequences taking place, some of them in reverse, which is what has led people to believe there would be a time travel element. Tenet is still planning on opening in theaters on July 17. This comes to us from GQ.

Express. Home of the Daily and Sunday Express. TENET movie star Robert Pattinson and Christopher Nolan have teased the mysterious film, revealing it doesn’t involve time travel. PUBLISHED: 16:13, Tue, May 12, 2020 | UPDATED: 16:26, Tue, May 12, 2020 This July sees Christopher Nolan’s latest movie Tenet released in cinemas. That is, of course, assuming movie theatres are reopened in some capacity by then. Very little is known about the new film and now the director and star Robert Pattinson have teased a little more. From the first trailer and set videos, it looked like Tenet was some sort of time travel spy thriller. But now Pattinson has told GQ of his character: “He’s not a time traveller. “There’s actually no time travelling. [laughs] “That’s, like, the one thing I’m approved to say. ” READ MORE: Tenet movie: Christopher Nolan’s time-bending thriller kept a mystery from cast Tenet movie: Robert Pattinson, Christopher Nolan tease SECRET film ‘It’s not time travel’ (Image: WB/GETTY) Robert Pattinson and John David Washington star in Tenet (Image: WB) On Tenet’s plot Pattinson, said he struggled to understand it himself but revealed: “This thing, it’s so insane. [JAMES BOND] Inception ending EXPLAINED: The HUGE clue you missed about final scene [INCEPTION] Despite Pattinson saying Tenet isn’t a time travel movie, the film’s behind-the-scenes book description appears to tease time is still a key theme. The book is called The Secrets of Tenet: Inside Christopher Nolan’s Quantum Cold War and is listed on Amazon. The description reads: “FROM DIRECTOR CHRISTOPHER NOLAN comes a mind-blowing espionage thriller so unique that audiences will puzzle over its intricacies for years to come. “The Secrets of Tenet takes readers on an exclusive journey into Nolan’s time-bending masterpiece, offering rare insights into all aspects of its creation. ” It adds: “Featuring in-depth commentary from Nolan himself and a range of other key collaborators—including producer Emma Thomas and production designer Nathan Crowley—The Secrets of Tenet delivers an essential masterclass that lays bare the director’s process and his singular creative vision. “Illustrated with candid behind-the-scenes imagery and compelling conceptual art, this is the ultimate exploration of a film guaranteed to linger in the imagination long into the future… and perhaps the past. ” Nolan loves to mess around with time in different ways in his movies from Memento and Inception to Interstellar and Dunkirk, so no doubt a fresh take on the theme will be seen in this film. Tenet is released in UK cinemas on July 17, 2020.

Robert Pattinson says there’s no actual time-traveling in Christopher Nolan’s sci-fi movie Tenet, in spite of what its trailer appears to suggest.
Robert Pattinson says there’s no time-traveling in Christopher Nolan’s Tenet. The actual concept of time is something the filmmaker has famously explored throughout the course of his career. His second film, Memento, memorably contains a storyline that unfolds in reverse chronological order and his last movie, the Oscar-winning Dunkirk, features three separate plot threads, each of which plays out across a different amount of time (a week, a day, and an hour). Unsurprisingly, his newest project, Tenet, also appears to contain some kind of time-related trickery.
The Tenet trailer paints a vague outline of the movie’s actual plot, but it’s known to take place in the world of international espionage and revolve around a group of characters tasked with stopping some type of World War III-level catastrophe. The footage also suggests there’s some kind of time-manipulation going on, showing clips of a car flipping over in reverse-motion and the film’s leads ( played by John David Washington and Pattinson) stumbling upon a shoot-out that ” hasn’t happened yet, ” as one of them describes it. Yet, despite what this suggests, there’s apparently no actual time-travel in the movie.

Speaking to GQ, Pattinson joined his Tenet costar Michael Caine in (half-jokingly) saying “I have no idea” what the movie is actually about. However, he was able to confirm the following about his character and the film in general:
He’s not a time traveler. There’s actually no time traveling. [laughs] That’s, like, the one thing I’m approved to say.
While there may be no proper time-travel, it’s obvious Tenet messes with the rules of time in one way or another. In addition to the trailer footage, a behind the scene book for the film (which was recently listed on Amazon) refers to its plot as “time-bending” and describes the whole thing as being about a “quantum Cold War. ” It’s possible the movie hews closer to something like Duncan Jones’ sci-fi thriller Source Code and involves some type of fictional technology that allows its heroes to manipulate time, even if they’re not technically traveling through it. This wouldn’t be the first time one of Nolan’s movies bent the rules of what really constitutes time-travel either. Indeed, Tenet could be similar to his space odyssey Interstellar in that it finds a way for its heroes to affect the events of the past without truly traveling to it (in that case, Matthew McConaughey’s astronaut Joseph Cooper contacted his daughter from the future using a mysterious tesseract).
Whatever’s going on, it makes Tenet sound fascinating, on top of being an intriguing continuation of Nolan’s ongoing examination of time through his work. And speaking of time: at the moment, everyone is waiting to see if the film sticks to its July release date, what with theaters currently shutdown over health concerns about the coronavirus pandemic. The hope is Tenet will be the first major movie release to welcome audiences back to theaters after they reopen, but it’s still unclear if that’s going to be possible. Either way, whenever it does comes out, it’s bound to lead to some very interesting discussions.
